Our Chef Lillian Elidah, popped by our kitchen to make a delicious soya lasagne. Whether you are a vegetarian or just trying to cut down on meat in your diet, this recipe gives you all the flavour and goodness of a reguar lasagne without the meat.

Golden goodness Lasagne

4 portions

1 cup Golden goodness soya mince

Preheat Oven to 180 C

3 tomatoes, grated

1 onion, grated

4 tbsp cooking oil

1 clove garlic minced

2tbsp tomato paste

2 tbsp oregano

leaves of fresh basil

salt and pepper to taste

Cheese Sauce

100g, butter


500g, milk

300g, shredded cheese, cheddar or Gouda ( keep a handful for the topping

12 lasagne sheets, soak them in hot water before starting to make the sauce

salt and pepper to taste


Follow the instruction of preparing the one cup of Soya mince and put aside

Heat up a medium large pan with the cooking oil

Add the grated tomatoes, onion and garlic and let simmer for about 10 minutes

Add the tomato paste and water and continue to simmer for 2 minutes

Add the soya mince and season with the spices and cook for another 3 minutes and put aside

Cheese sauce

Melt the margarine or butter in a pot

Add the flour and stir until all is well incorporated

Add the milk slowly and continue to stir on low heat until it thickens

Add the cheese at the end to have a thicker mixture

Using a gratin or lasagne dish
Add the Goldengoodness Bolognese sauce on the bottom
Add the softened Lasagne sheet to cover, add the Goldengoodness Bolognese sauce, cheese sauce and repeat this process until the mixture is finished or the gratin dish is full
sprinkle the toppings with the cheese pot aside and bake in the oven for 20mins
